Anyone who has looked for an office in an ETH-Zurich building has come to appreciate the functions of the ETH-Zurich App. Besides building layouts, however, ETH Life news, the events calendar and restaurant menus can also be accessed in a matter of clicks.

The revised version is now out. With a few minor but fine changes, it is even more geared towards user-friendly information. One new feature is the search function for the contact details of ETH-Zurich members – but only the staff (information on ETH-Zurich students is blocked on the grounds of data protection). With one click on the email address, the user can immediately send an email to or call the person requested by tapping the telephone number indicated and, at the same time, pinpoint the person’s office. Apart from the locations, the app also displays ground plans with the room in question indicated in colour. Even room numbers can be accessed quickly and easily. Moreover, all ETH-Zurich buildings throughout Switzerland can be located using the official mapsearch.ethz.ch feature.

Restaurant menus are also linked with the gastro-server, which means that any changes are also immediately updated on the iPhone. And for news and the events calendar, English-language contents can now also be accessed as desired via a corresponding setting.

The app, which was developed by three ETH-Zurich students, is also available as an iPad version as well as the iPhone version.
